Advises global franchisors and distributors on U.S. and foreign patent and trademark acquisition and enforcement strategies.
Prepares and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications in a variety of technologies, including herbal therapeutic formulations, biotechnological diagnostic instruments, business methods, software-driven educational processes, and soil and groundwater remediation systems.
Represents local, national and international businesses in acquiring and protecting trademark rights in proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Brent is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
CAREER:
After graduating from the University of Utah, Brent spent two and a half years working as a quality control chemist for an international calcium carbonate mining company.
Brent studied patent, trademark and trade secret law at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
