Civil Litigation Attorney >

Summary:  Jones Waldo is seeking to employ a civil litigation attorney to work at our downtown Salt Lake City Utah office.  This position will primarily focus on commercial and construction litigation.  The candidate should have at least 3-5 years of civil litigation experience with a law firm or in a compatible setting.  Applicants with Federal and State court experience preferred.  Must be a member of the Utah State Bar Association.

Help Desk Representative >

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: IT Director

Summary: Jones Waldo is accepting resumes for a full-time Help Desk Technician to answer end user’s general technical and software-related questions, set-up and maintain desktop computers, phones, printers, and otherwise assist the I.S. department as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00a to 6:30p (with 30-minute lunch break.)

Responsibilities:

  • Help Desk duties: Monitor the Help Desk e-mail/phone lines and respond to requests answering general technical and software-related questions, providing guidance and researching possible solutions
  • Printer-related duties: Install, set-up and performance basic maintenance of all printers
  • Assist I.S. Department: Help with installations, workstation configurations and maintenance, network cabling, additions and/or upgrades, etc.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous help desk work experience answering phones and interacting with a variety of people
  • Previous experience working on various workstations and printers
  • Good understanding of computer systems, networks, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proven record of punctuality and dependability
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.

Hospitality Assistant >

Reports To: Services Manager

Summary: Do you want to see how a law firm operates without being a lawyer? Jones Waldo is accepting resumes for a part-time Hospitality Assistant; this position is the undercurrent of our firm. Hospitality ensures conference rooms are always prepared and that supplies are readily available throughout the firm.

Hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Stocking cabinets with drinks and other supplies
  • Wiping down counter tops and tables
  • Assisting with catering orders
  • Making carafes of coffee on various floors

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Previous experience in hospitality preferred

Billing and Collections Clerk >

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Summary: The billing and collections clerk is responsible for overseeing billing and collections activities of the firm working closely with the other members of the accounting staff, attorneys and secretaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Make contact with and prepare reminder statements for delinquent clients. Work with staff and attorneys to overcome client objections to payment.
  • Monitor client bankruptcies and clients referred to outside collections agencies.
  • Seek to lower the firm’s accounts receivable and ensure the billing process is timely and accurate.
  • Write & utilize SQL queries to generate and maintain various reports.
  • Process credit card transactions for the firm and run related reports.
  • Preform audits on billable hours, AR, contingency cases, trust accounts etc.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for attorneys and management on accounts receivable, collections, client retainer balances, work in progress, department AR summaries, etc.
  • Coordinate invoice submission through various electronic billing portals for insurance and non-insurance clients, ensuring guidelines are followed and coordinating appeals of invoice reductions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years billing and collections experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with writing ad hoc SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server and report generation in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 

Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
