Attorneys Participate in 6th Annual Bar Sharks for Justice Pool Tournament
Organized by the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar, the annual Bar Sharks Tournament is a chance for local attorneys to play pool and support the "And Justice For All" legal aid program. Team of attorneys play in three game matches Oct. 10 and 17 at Lumpy's downtown bar and move through the brackets until one group wins the "Bar Sharks" trophy for the event.
This year, Jones Waldo supported two teams of attorneys in the tournament. Other participants included CIT Bank, Thorpe North & Western, Workman Nydegger, Snell & Wilmer, Parsons Behle & Latimer, Robert DeBry & Associates, University of Utah Student Bar Association, BYU Student Bar Association, Team George & Sheldon, Parsons Kinghorn Harris, Kipp & Christian, Ray Quinney & Nebeker, Mark & Associates and CitiCourt Reporting.
This year, CIT and Lumpy's jointly sponsored the event and worked with the Young Lawyers Division to organize and oversee the tournament. Stephanie Wilkins Pugsley from Rooker Mohrman Rawlins & Bailey, leads the Young Lawyers Division as the current president and worked with C. Ryan Christensen of Parsons Kinghorn Harris, Candice Pitcher of Jones Waldo and Jonathan Benns of Workman Nydegger to pull the tournament, one of their biggest events, off in style.
The tournament included other prizes and drawings donated by sponsors to help energize and motivate the attorneys. JW attorney Troy Ambaru won the grand prize of two Southwest airline tickets. While pool skills varied across the bar, attorneys were able to relax and enjoy some friendly competition and help support “And Justice For All.” Jones Waldo was proud to be a part of the event.
