The history of Jones Waldo is as long as the state of Utah. The firm was founded in 1875 by territorial delegate Joseph L. Rawlins. Rawlins played an integral part in Utah's campaign for statehood, and as the territory grew into something greater, Rawlins law firm expanded with it. During these early years, when Salt Lake City had more Model T's than lawyers, Jones Waldo began building its reputation for excellence. The tradition has continued, as mixed in with the progress of the firm are the names of some of Utah's most important businesses and most respected attorneys. Looking at what Jones Waldo has become today, it's difficult to imagine Rawlins' fledgling firm. Yet, the years between are filled with the growth and success that has become our legacy. While we're proud of our prestigious heritage, we're confident we're not done making history yet.
