Tim Anderson Completes Trustee Responsibilities, Helping Clients of Imprisoned Former Counsel

Timothy B. Anderson, managing partner of the St. George office of Jones Waldo, one of Utah’s most enduring and prestigious law firms, has completed his responsibilities as trustee in the disposition of client files of jailed former attorney Matthew T. Graff.

Anderson and Jones Waldo staff donated more than $83,000 in billable hours over the last year as they sorted, identified and returned files to the former clients of Graff, who was accused of taking settlement money from his clients. Graff was disbarred and sentenced in February to two concurrent terms and one consecutive term of one to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two second-degree felonies of unlawful dealing of property by a fiduciary in Iron County and one second-degree felony of communications fraud in Washington County.

In addition to overseeing the return of all Graff files, Anderson provided a listening ear to the hundreds of worried clients left without an attorney. In all, 765 files were returned to clients, with the remaining, unclaimed files given to the Utah State Bar.
