SALT LAKE CITY— Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough is proud to announce that Liz Butler has been elected to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee. This appointment makes Jones Waldo history, with Liz being the first woman to be elected to the Executive Committee. A respected leader with great strategic vision and strong management experience, Liz is dedicated to the firm’s commitment to the broader community and fostering diversity and talent at Jones Waldo.
Liz Butler is a litigation shareholder who practices commercial litigation in several areas, including complex business litigation, intellectual property litigation, natural resource litigation, and competitive employment litigation. Liz also serves as the Chair of the Women Lawyers Group and the Chair of the Associate Recruiting Committee.
“Liz is a highly skilled litigator and energetic leader; she understands the needs of our market, industries, attorneys, and staff, which makes her the ideal choice to join the Executive Committee as we focus on the future,” said Nathan Thomas, Jones Waldo President. Liz has served on the firm’s Board of Directors since 2019.

Along with the election of Liz Butler as Chair, Scott DuBois and Michael Judd were elected as the newest members of the firm’s Board of Directors. Scott DuBois is a real estate and litigation shareholder based in the Park City office, representing clients ranging from large corporations to small businesses and individuals. DuBois is an active part of the Park City community serving on several Park City-based non-profit organizations. Michael Judd is a shareholder that practices in commercial litigation, including employment litigation, complex business litigation, antitrust and intellectual property litigation. Their term began effective December 14, 2021. Jones Waldo’s Executive Committee will be comprised of Nathan Thomas as President, Liz Butler as Chair of the Board, and Kyle Leishman as Secretary.
