Jones Waldo Promotes Three Attorneys to Shareholder Status

SALT LAKE CITY— Jones Waldo is pleased to announce that three of its attorneys became new shareholders of the firm effective April 21, 2020. Located in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, the new shareholders are committed to bringing personalized client service and an entrepreneurial spirit, which are foundations of Jones Waldo’s commitment as a leading business law firm, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The new Jones Waldo shareholders include:

Taryn Evans focuses much of her practice on family law and domestic matters. She spends significant time in court and mediation representing her family law clients. Taryn dedicates the rest of her practice to commercial litigation and other general litigation matters, including, but not limited to: contract disputes, partnership disputes, commercial landlord-tenant disputes; enforcement of intellectual property rights, employment law; and disputes involving real property.

Michael Judd, practices in commercial litigation, including employment litigation, complex business litigation, and intellectual property litigation. Michael litigates cases related to business competition and innovation, including trade-secret disputes, enforcement of restrictive covenants, and anti-competitive business practices. He also advises and represents employers in cases related to civil rights, discrimination, harassment, payment of wages, wrongful discharge, and compliance with state and federal law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Paul Smith, practices in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law, bankruptcy law, water law, and intellectual property. Paul litigates cases involving complex factual and legal matters including breach of contract, employment discrimination, Ponzi schemes, breach of fiduciary duty, interference with contract, trade secrets, and patents and trademarks. He has tried cases before state and federal courts, the Adjudication Division of the Utah Labor Commission, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Paul also represents clients in acquiring and protecting U.S. trademark rights in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
